
Daniel Rosenthal was born in London in 1971, and educated at University College School, London, and Pembroke College, Cambridge. Daniel has been a freelance author, interviewer and feature writer since 1996, writing on film and theatre for The Times, Independent, Observer, Evening Standard and Independent on Sunday, and regularly appears as a film critic and commentator on Sky News.

Daniel has chaired over 80 film, TV & theatre Q&As with actors, directors, producers & writers, for the National Theatre (20 pre-show Platform events), BAFTA, the Royal Shakespeare Company and national and international film festivals, including events in Dubai and Dubrovnik.
These events have seen him interview, amongst others:
Denys Arcand, Kenneth Branagh, Michael Frayn, Mike Leigh, Patrick Marber, Helen Mirren and Christopher Walken.

In April 2007, Daniel curated the “Inspired by Shakespeare” season of genre adaptations at BFI Southbank (formerly the National Film Theatre) in London. He is available as a Shakespeare film programmer for national and international film festivals.
